Study Tour Group of Schoolchildren Arrives at Mangyongdae
Pyongyang, March 30 (KCNA) -- A study tour group of exemplary schoolchildren from across the DPRK arrived at Mangyongdae, the sacred place of the revolution. It was organized on the 100th anniversary of the 250-mile journey for learning made by the great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung.

The group of schoolchildren from across the country left Phophyong on March 16 and made a tour of the 250-mile journey associated with the sacred footsteps of Kim Il Sung, deeply grasping the patriotic intention and noble spirit cherished by him along with his historic first step for revolution.

Bearing deep in mind the love and trust of the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un who puts his heart and soul into bringing up the schoolchildren to be reliable pillars of socialist Korea, the members of the study tour group crossed Ogasan Pass and marched to Kaechon via Hwaphyong, Kanggye, Jonchon, Hyangsan and other places. Then they took train and arrived in Pyongyang on March 29.

Both sides of the streets from Pyongyang Railway Station to Mangyongdae were crowded with working people, school youth and children who came out to welcome the marchers.

The members of the study tour group arrived at Mangyongdae amid a warm welcome by the masses.

The group held a meeting at Mangyongdae Revolutionary School upon their arrival.

Present there were Kim Su Gil, chief secretary of the Pyongyang City Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Ri Tu Song, department director of the C.C., WPK, Choe Hui Thae, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee, officials concerned and officials of the youth league and members of the study tour group.

Prior to the meeting, the participants laid a floral basket before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il at Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and paid tribute to them.

Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the youth league, made a report to be followed by speeches.

The reporter and speakers said that the study tour group successfully finished their march and arrived at Mangyongdae thanks to the loving care and benevolence shown by Marshal Kim Jong Un who always paid deep attention to the study tour of schoolchildren.

They called for making greater successes in study and organizational life this significant year marking the 75th founding anniversary of the DPRK and thus demonstrating to the world the proud appearance and spirit of the younger generation dynamically advancing toward the future of a powerful country under the care of Kim Jong Un.

A letter to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.
