The city has pushed ahead with the work to secure good breeds of domestic animals, reinforce production bases and put the breeding on a scientific basis of higher level.

The production room of Hermetia illucens and fermentation feed production process were newly built at the Kaesong Chicken Farm and the Pakyon Livestock Farm. Meanwhile, all the stockbreeding units have taken practical measures to solve the feed problem by raising the proportion of non-grain feed to suit their specific conditions.

More than 350 hectares of natural grassland were rearranged and high-yielding species of grass seeds secured to expand the area of pasture.

The farms are conducting a mass movement to increase the production of livestock products through the establishment of a ring-shaped rotation production system of livestock farming and agricultural production.
