Premier Inspects North and South Phyongan Provinces
|Pyongyang, April 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, inspected various sectors of North and South Phyongan provinces.
Going round farms in Phyongwon, Sukchon, Mundok, Unjon, Yomju, Pakchon, Sonchon and other counties, he stressed the need to push ahead with immediate farming, concentrate efforts on the early-ripening crops, take timely measures to prevent drought damage and, at the same time, actively introduce advanced farming methods and supply farming materials in time.
He learned in detail about the projects for updating the Sinuiju Chemical Fibre Mill and the December 5 Youth Mine and the progress made in the construction of new production processes. He called for waging a strenuous struggle on the basis of correctly setting the major thrust and phased goals to finish the projects earlier.
At the Rakwon General Machine Enterprise and the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex seething with the efforts for implementing the resolutions of the plenary meetings of the Party Central Committee, he stressed the need to steadily carry out the reinforcement plans one by one and produce more different kinds of high-performance machines and chemical fertilizer so as to support the Party's grand plan for economic construction and the rural revolutionary programme in the new era with practical successes.
The field consultative meetings discussed the issues of dynamically pushing forward the work to perfect the overall irrigation system, fully meeting the scientific and technological requirements in carrying out the farming processes, perfectly solving the problems arising in reality by enhancing the role of the scientific research field, and ensuring the production of products under contract in a responsible manner at relevant units.
Meanwhile, the premier visited Ryongchon, Tongrim and Mundok counties to learn about the quality of school uniforms and the rural housing construction and discussed the ways for thoroughly implementing the people-oriented policies of the Party.
