The games, to be held at Kim Il Sung Stadium and the May Day Stadium, will bring together 16 men and women football teams respectively.

The teams will play league matches, divided into four groups and the eight teams from them will advance into quarterfinals.

The four teams winning the quarterfinals are to play in the semifinals.

The Ryomyong team beat the Wangjaesan team 4:0 and the Wolmido team beat the Ministry of Light Industry team 2:0 in the men's matches.

There were matches between April 25 and Jebi teams and between Ponghwasan and Rimyongsu teams in the women's category. The April 25 team and the Rimyongsu team beat their rivals 5:0 and 1:0 respectively.
