Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, presided over the meeting.

Present there were vice-premiers Pak Jong Gun and Yang Sung Ho and other members of the Cabinet.

Attending it as observers were officials of organs under the Cabinet and those from ministries, chairpersons of provincial, city and county people's committees and officials from agricultural guidance organs and major industrial establishments.

The meeting reviewed the implementation of the first quarterly national economic plan for carrying through the resolutions of the 6th and 7th plenary meetings of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK and discussed the measures for fulfilling the first half-yearly national economic plan and laying a solid foundation for attaining this year's grain production goal.

Pak Jong Gun, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the State Planning Commission, made a report.

The reporter noted that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un clarified the guidelines to dynamically promote the remarkable development in socialist construction of our style at plenary meetings of the WPK Central Committee and has wisely led the struggle for implementing them.

He said that all sectors and units of the national economy established a more firm viewpoint and discipline on implementing the national economic plan and waged a courageous drive for increased production based on science and technology, thus achieving successes in fulfilling the plan.

Analyzing and reviewing the defects and deviations of some units revealed in the implementation of the first quarterly plan, he stressed the need to intensify the struggle against such practices as following the old work style and not working against the collar in implementation of the Party's resolutions.

He called on all sectors and units to set the main link and order of priority correctly and further strengthen the organic ties and cooperation between sectors and units to ensure the fulfillment of the next quarterly plan.

Speeches were made at the meeting.

Discussed were issues arising in pushing ahead with the reclamation of tideland, irrigation project and the production of farm machines as scheduled while taking measures to timely finish the sowing of crops in a qualitative way and prevent drought damage to wheat and barley fields for success in early-crop farming.

The meeting referred to the issue of providing a firm guarantee for attaining the 12 major goals set forth by the Party by carrying out the next quarterly national economic plan without fail and pushing ahead with the work for readjustment and reinforcement as planned, the issue for ministries and national institutions, provincial, city and county people's committees and agricultural guidance organs to enlist all manpower and means in farming and other issues and took relevant measures.
