South Hamgyong Province of DPRK Focuses on Fertilizing and Tending Wheat and Barley

Pyongyang, April 6 (KCNA) -- The agricultural officials and workers in South Hamgyong Province in the DPRK, who have turned out in the work to attain this year's grain-production goal set forth by the 7th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, fertilize and cultivate wheat and barley in line with the seasonal conditions and in a sci-tech way.

All the farms in the province are applying manure and fertilizer according to the technical regulations.

Honam, Ryulsong and Sinsang farms in Jongphyong County secured enough self-sufficing manure and efficacious growth promoter and took measures to apply them according to the specific conditions of each plot. As a result, fine crops of wheat and barley are expected.

The agricultural workers in Tanchon City and Hamju County are simultaneously repairing and maintaining the pumping equipment to prevent possible yield decrease due to drought.

Riwon County and Hamhung City, too, have taken foresighted steps to provide crops in the second half of their growth with good conditions.

While pushing ahead with the immediate farm work according to the daily plan, the province is clearing the irrigation canals and waterways extending thousands of kilometers according to plan.
