National Art Exhibition Opens
Pyongyang, April 11 (KCNA) -- A national art exhibition opened at the Korean Art Gallery with due ceremony on Monday to celebrate the 111th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

Displayed at the venue of the exhibition are fine art pieces showing the immortal revolutionary career and exploits of the President who opened up a new era of history advancing under the banner of independence and provided eternal treasures for everlasting victory and prosperity of socialist Korea.

They deal with the undying feats of the President who achieved the historic cause of national liberation and built a people's country on this land.

Some of them depict the personality of the invincible and iron-willed commander as the peerlessly great man who created the proud history of victory and tradition of Juche Korea by leading the grim Fatherland Liberation War to a shining victory.

Also on display are art works dealing with the history of revolutionary activities of Chairman Kim Jong Il who most faithfully supported the President's plan and intention for the people's happiness, the reality of the country which greeted a new era of changes and development under the guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and the people's struggle for implementing the resolutions of the Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the plenary meetings of the C.C., WPK.

Present at the opening ceremony were Ri Il Hwan, secretary of the WPK Central Committee, officials and creators in the field of fine art and working people in the city of Pyongyang.

Minister of Culture Sung Jong Gyu made an opening address.
