Scientific Farming Guidance Intensified in DPRK
Pyongyang, April 11 (KCNA) -- Agricultural guidance organs at all levels in the DPRK are intensifying the scientific and technological guidance over farming.

Officials of the Agricultural Commission are seriously tackling technical problems arising in properly combining early, middle and late grain crops, with consideration given to supply of seeds, distribution of crops and cultivation so as to minimize damage caused by disastrous abnormal weather and ensure safe farming.

In particular, the main emphasis is put on overcoming the lop-sidedness and increasing the per-hectare yield on all farms.

The South Phyongan Provincial Rural Economy Committee mapped out a long-term plan for agricultural development suited to the specific conditions of the province and, on this basis, has directed efforts to improving the structure of agricultural production and to providing farming materials and consolidating the material and technical foundations of the agricultural sector.

Officials of the South Hamgyong Provincial Rural Economy Committee give correct guidance and assistance to the rural economy so that every city and county do farm work on the principle of right crop, right place and right time.

The North Hwanghae Provincial Rural Economy Committee works on purpose for balance between those cities and counties holding lion's share in grain output and those staying behind.

The Kangwon Provincial Rural Economy Committee strengthens cooperation among sectors and units related to farming and, at the same time, trains talented agricultural technicians in a planned and responsible manner.

Officials of the city and county agricultural management committees in all other areas of the country are playing increasing role to direct all efforts to doing farming well this year.
