The decree said that the title of DPRK Labor Hero together with the Gold Medal (Hammer and Sickle) and the Order of National Flag First Class, and other orders and medals are awarded to those women bringing up many children with warm maternal affection, in recognition of their patriotic contribution to the prosperity of the socialist country.

According to the decree, the title of Labor Hero was conferred on three women, Order of Labor on six, Order of National Flag Second Class on 138, Order of National Flag Third Class on 507 and Medal of Merit on 2,917.
