Joint National Meeting of KCU Organizations Held
Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- A joint national meeting of the Korean Children's Union (KCU) organizations took place at Changdok School on April 15, the 111th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

Present at the meeting were students of Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School, schoolchildren in the capital city of Pyongyang and the pupils who would join the KCU.

Present there on invitation were Kim Su Gil, chief secretary of the Pyongyang City Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Ri Tu Song, department director of the C.C., the WPK, officials concerned, youth league officials and meritorious persons in the city.

Prior to the meeting, the participants placed a floral basket and bouquets before the statue of the President at the school and paid tribute to him.

Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, made a report.

The reporter called on all KCU members to prepare themselves to be young revolutionaries and guards, trusting and following and devotedly defending the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un to the last by inheriting the tradition of loyalty created by the first generation of young revolutionaries in the thick forest of Mt. Paektu.

A ceremony for joining the KCU took place at the meeting.

The pupils joining the KCU took an oath, led by Kim Su Gil.

Officials and persons of merits put red neckties around the necks of the pupils and pinned KCU badges on their uniforms.

Those pupils saluted as KCU member while responding to the slogan "Let us be always ready for socialist country!"

Then, congratulatory speeches were made at the meeting.
