Present there were Chairwoman Choe Un Bok and officials of the General Association of Koreans in China, representatives of its affiliated organizations, officials of the DPRK consulate general in Shenyang and DPRK citizens working in three northeastern provinces of China.

The events were attended by the director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Jilin Provincial People's Government, a vice-mayor of the Jilin City People's Government, the director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Jilin City People's Government, the principal of Yuwen Middle School in Jilin and other representatives of Chinese public organizations and personages, representatives of Koreans' organizations in Liaoning and Jilin provinces including the Association of Korean Enterprisers in China and Koreans of various strata in China.

Floral baskets in the name of organizations of Koreans in China were laid before the statue of President Kim Il Sung at Yuwen Middle School in Jilin.

The participants paid tribute to President Kim Il Sung, founder of the Party, state and army of the DPRK and father of socialist Korea.

Then a meeting of the General Association of Koreans in China took place to celebrate the 111th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

The meeting began with chorus "Song of General Kim Il Sung".

The reporter said that President Kim Il Sung made a firm pledge to liberate the country deprived by the Japanese imperialists in his teens, conducted his early revolutionary activities at Yuwen Middle School in Jilin and led the 15-year-long bloody anti-Japanese armed struggle to victory.

Thanks to his wise leadership, the DPRK could turn into a socialist state, independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence, the report stressed.

The revolutionary cause of Juche pioneered and whose eternal foundation was laid by the President had been successfully carried forward by Chairman Kim Jong Il and the precious assets for the prosperity of the country and the improvement of the people's living standard were provided, it noted, adding that it was possible to accelerate the building of a powerful socialist country without the slightest vacillation or frustration despite the hostile forces' vicious sanctions and pressure.

Thanks to the far-sighted view, iron pluck and bold decision of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, a rosy future has opened up for the DPRK, the report said.

It stressed that the victory of the socialist cause of Juche is sure to be achieved as long as the great leaders bless the future of the nation and all the people are firmly united around Kim Jong Un.

A meeting for adopting a congratulatory letter to Kim Jong Un from the General Association of Koreans in China took place at the conference hall of the association in Shenyang City, China on April 13.

Colorful events were held at the Zhongnan Regional Association, the Yanbian Regional Association, the Jilin City Branch, the Changbai County Branch, the Jian City Branch, the Harbin City Branch and the Dandong City Branch of the General Association of Koreans in China from April 9 to 13 to mark the significant Day of the Sun.
