The sports contest will be held in different places of Pyongyang City, divided into two groups in such events as basketball (men), volleyball (men and women), table tennis, tug-of-war and Taekwon-Do.

An opening ceremony took place at the Basketball Gymnasium in Chongchun Street on April 18.

Attending the ceremony were Choe Tong Myong, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Jon Sung Guk, vice-premier of the Cabinet, officials concerned and officials of the public health sector, sports players and employees of the central-level hospitals.

Choe Kyong Chol, minister of Public Health, delivered an opening address.

Then, a march-past of the players was held, which was followed by the basketball game between the teams of the Korea General Red Cross Hospital and the Kim Man Yu Hospital.
