More Coal Produced to Increase Fertilizer Production in DPRK
Pyongyang, April 23 (KCNA) -- True to the resolutions of the Seventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the coal-mining industrial sector of the DPRK has made redoubled efforts to supply more coal to fertilizer production bases which play a big role in resolving the farming problem.

Officials of the Ministry of Coal Industry and relevant units are taking innovative measures to give definite precedence to prospecting and tunneling and increase the proportion of mechanization in pit work.

The Kowon Coal Mine set the Kim Hyok Youth Shock Brigade as a model and has made sure that joint innovations were made at each face through the work to generalize its examples.

It also expanded the capacity of the coal-dressing processes by remodeling the coal separator and is increasing the coal production while keeping the operation of the coal-mining equipment at full capacity.

Similar successes have been made at the Namyang and Pongchon coal mines.
