National Heritage Conservation Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, April 23 (KCNA) -- Efforts for preserving national heritage are brisk across the DPRK.

The Bureau for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture has set a stepwise goal for reconstructing historical relics associated with wisdom the and talents of the ancestors and protecting the ecological environment of scenic spots in the spring months for the protection of national heritage.

Pyongyang City has repainted and repaired roof tiles of the Chilsong Pavilion of the Popun Temple and outer Pyongyang castle in a responsible manner in conformity with the technical requirements, while rearranging their vicinity.

Officials and working people in Phyongsong City of South Phyongan Province and Pyoksong County of South Hwanghae Province spruced up Anguk Temple and Sohyon School, a national treasure.

Working people in Kaesong City have paid deep attention to the repair of dozens of mausoleums including the mausoleum of King Kyonghyo, the manuring and cultivation of lawns, road improvement, ditch-embankment and revetment repair and the work to preserve the Sonjuk Bridge and Phyochung Monument.

Kangso District in Nampho City has pushed ahead with the work to remove the winter traces, such as repair of roads around the three tombs in Kangso, in a planned way.

The Myohyangsan History Museum, Sariwon History Museum, Hamhung History Museum and Koryo Museum are directing efforts to displaying relics on the principle of historicism and preserving them in a scientific way.
