The meeting was aimed at raising the qualifications of university officials and generalizing successes and experience, true to the tasks set forth at the 6th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Introduced there were the achievements and experience gained in the course of improving the educational structure, contents and methods of teacher-training schools in coherence with the goal to train more talents.

Also discussed in depth were successes and experience seen in the work to create research-style teaching and studying methods.

The meeting served as an important occasion in arousing the officials of educational and teacher-training universities and colleges across the country to the implementation of the Party's education policy on raising the level of normal education.
