New Species of Pear Trees Planted across Country
Pyongyang, May 5 (KCNA) -- In spring, the new species of pear trees with high per-hectare yield were planted in different parts of the country, followed up with scientific and technical manuring and cultivation.

Officials of the Agricultural Commission and in the field of fruit farming give precedence to ensuring technical and material supply and organize the work to raise the survival rate of fruit trees and take thorough measures to prevent damage by harmful insects.

South Hwanghae Province has planted tens of thousands of pear trees and now tries to put fruit production on a scientific and intensive basis.

Anak and Sinchon counties try to complete irrigation and to apply effective chemicals and manure.

Unpha and Pongsan counties of North Hwanghae Province have taken technical measures suited to the characteristics of the high-yielding pear trees.

Mangyongdae District and Kangnam County of Pyongyang City and the Onchon Fruit Farm are taking measures to prevent damage by disastrous and abnormal weather and harmful insects.
