Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- The Korean Youth Commercial Association in Japan is mounting a patriotic movement for national education, lifeline of the patriotic cause of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), true to the historic letter sent by the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un to the 25th Congress of Chongryon. The Commercial Association has expanded the sub-regular education to instill the national soul to the Korean students across Japan under the slogan of "Schools to children with no Korean schools!" It set up a school under the Commercial Association for the enrollment of children with no Korean schools in their residential areas or who are attending Japanese schools due to long commute distance while teaching them spoken and written Korean languages and Korean history and culture. The first such school was operated at Ibaragi Korean primary middle and high school from March 26 to 29. There were mother tongue and Korean history lessons and a lecture on living as full-fledged Koreans even in Japan, and cultural and sports club activities. There were presentations of Korean language, Korean songs and Janggo rendition taught at the school. The Osaka Prefectural Korean Youth Commercial Association held the first "Flower Bud Olympic 2023" on March 1 despite the Japanese reactionaries' discrimination moves. Contests on 18 events including mental arithmetic calculation and memory with the participation of over 820 children of Korean kindergartens, Korean primary, middle and high schools in Osaka, Wakayama and Nara prefectures drew great attention. The Korean middle and high school in Tokyo held an event "Twinkle, Twinkle Flower Buds" under the sponsorship of the Tokyo Metropolitan Korean Youth Commercial Association on April 23. The event, attended by children of Korean schools and officials and compatriots under the Chongryon headquarters in Tokyo, over 1300 in all, included an art performance on the theme of "Our Flower Buds", performance of Tokyo Korean song and dance ensemble for compatriots and amusement games of Korean children. |
