Premier Kim Tok Hun Inspects South Phyongan and North Hwanghae Provinces
Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) -- Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, inspected various fields in South Phyongan and North Hwanghae provinces.

Going round several farms including the Ponghak Vegetable Farm of the South Phyongan Provincial Rural Economy Committee, the Phungthan Farm in Sunchon City, the township farm in Hwangju County and the Ryongchon Farm, Kim Tok Hun gave pep-talks to the officials and agricultural workers who make their positive efforts in the fields to reap a good harvest this year at any cost, true to the resolutions of the 7th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Party, and learned in detail about the immediate farming.

He called upon the agricultural guidance institutions to give responsible guidance to farming and provide a firm guarantee for attaining the grain goal for this year, stressing the need to thoroughly meet sci-tech requirements in manuring and cultivating the first crops, grow rice seedlings well and take minute steps for overcoming the effects of the disastrous abnormal weather.

At the construction sites for the establishment of C-1 chemical industry and a nutrient solution fertilizer factory of the Sunchon Chemical Complex, he said that officials, scientists, technicians and builders should make strenuous efforts and display their creativity to the full so as to hasten the day of the completion, deeply mindful of the importance of the construction.

At the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex, he called for concentrating efforts on fulfilling monthly and quarterly production plans and for finishing qualitatively the projects of weighty significance in strengthening the independence and Juche character of the metal industry.

The field consultative meetings discussed the issue for officials in the fields of metal and chemical industries to intensify scientific and technological guidance to major projects and push forward with the work for reinforcing and maintaining them as planned and the issue for relevant units to produce and supply equipment and materials needed for the projects in time.
