The Chongryon Central Standing Committee held a central meeting of Koreans in Japan, an exhibition of historical data and Friday action to protest and condemn the Japanese authorities' discrimination against national education and defend and expand the right to education.

The headquarters, central organizations and affiliates of Chongryon in their press statements disclosed that the Japanese authorities have persistently pursued the moves to obliterate national education for 75 years since the start of the April 24 education struggle, expressing the will to wage a dynamic all-organization and all-compatriot struggle for defending the right to education.

The media of Chongryon including the Choson Sinbo called for waging a more positive struggle for defending the right to education, united close around Chongryon organizations, widely explaining to officials and compatriots the background and significance of the April 24 educational struggle, the first largest-scale massive struggle in the history of the movement of the Koreans in Japan, and the immutable truth that national rights can be won only through struggle.

The headquarters and schools of Chongryon held meetings, lectures, photo exhibitions and other events to arouse Chongryon officials and compatriots to the struggle for defending and expanding the right to national education.
