Thanks to their surging enthusiasm, the records of drawing water into rice paddies and harrowing fields in the country have increased more than 1.5 times than the same period last year.

South Hwanghae Province has improved the water-passing capacity of waterways to irrigate large areas of paddy fields.

North Phyongan Province has ensured the depth of water suitable for growing rice seedlings by irrigating the rice-fields according to the characteristics of fields and plots.

South Hamgyong Province has o stepped up the digging of ditches and repairing of rice-paddy dikes and raised the responsibility and role of the caretakers of water.

Pyongyang City is conducting brisk mass movement and pushing ahead with the rice-transplanting campaign.

The same is true of South Phyongan, North Hwanghae and North Hamgyong provinces and Nampho City.
