The goal of grain production this year is the vital one of decisive significance in the struggle to attain the 12 major goals for national economic development and its fulfillment depends on whether rice transplanting is done in good time or not, the editorial says, and goes on:

Rice means national power, dignity and great asset for development. If a lot of rice is available, we can confidently open up the period of overall development of Korean-style socialism as scheduled. The green carpets to be seen on every socialist field will serve as a picture vividly showing the appearance of the Korean people vigorously struggling to implement the programme for the rural revolution in the new era.

The trust and expectations reposed by our Party in the agricultural workers are great.

The agricultural workers should devote their sincerity and passion, true to their determination to repay the great benevolence of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un, who is ushering in a new era of rural development, with increased grain production.

This year’s successful farming is not the issue confined to agriculture. It is a nationwide and all-people struggle involving all sectors, units and citizens and requiring their devoted contribution. Everyone should regard it as an important matter related to his or her destiny and development of the country, and take part in rice-transplanting voluntarily, actively and responsibly.
