Efforts Concentrated on Increasing Marine Resources in North Hamgyong Province, DPRK

Pyongyang, May 17 (KCNA) -- North Hamgyong Province of the DPRK is directing big efforts to increasing the marine resources of the country. The provincial people's committee is striving to establish a cyclic Alaska Pollack fry production system and scientific breeding system at all fishery stations after setting the Komalsan Atlantic Salmon Fish Farm and the Ryonjin Fishery Station as models.

It also helps the city and county breeding stations raise the scientific level of fry breeding.

The committee is encouraging the Chongjin Fishery Station, the Sokho Offshore Farm and other fishery stations to expand the area of breeding grounds and further vitalize the mixed breeding.

Besides, it also pays heed to supplying the produced kelps and mussels to nurseries, kindergartens and households in time.
