Modernization of Educational Institutions Promoted in DPRK
Pyongyang, June 15 (KCNA) -- True to the resolutions of the 6th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, a project for building or updating educational institutions was launched in different parts of the DPRK.

40-odd schools and kindergartens have been built or remodeled and over 8,200 classrooms turned into multi-functional ones across the country this year.

A complete facelift was given to Okryu Junior Middle School in Taedonggang District of Pyongyang Municipality, Songwon Senior Middle School in Hoesang District of Hamhung City, South Hamgyong Province, Jain Primary School in Thaethan County of South Hwanghae Province.

Many officials and working people in cities and counties turned out in the campaign for building various rooms conducive to developing the intellectual faculties of preschoolers.

The number of multi-functional classrooms is on the increase in Jagang Province as proactive efforts have been made to provide the conditions necessary for making education modern and IT-based.

Officials and working people of support organizations across the country, too, provided educational equipment and teaching tools helpful to the instruction and edification of students.
