President Kim Il Sung established the bureau conducive to improving the material and cultural life of the citizens of the capital city on June 18, Juche 62 (1973), and ensured that it successfully performed its noble mission and duty as an institution serving the people.

Chairman Kim Jong Il who was concerned for the bureau's work reorganized its working system and took measures for bringing about a fundamental turn in trade.

The President's and the Chairman's warm love and affection for the citizens of the capital city are successfully being given continuity by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

He made sure that a congratulatory letter of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea was sent to the officials and employees at the bureau on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of its founding, and that bureau served the people faithfully.

The officials and employees of the bureau have conducted trade with the peerlessly great men's noble intention of the love for the people as a guideline for its activities and practice, and thus contributed to improving the people's living standard and to displaying the advantages of the Korean-style socialism,
