Work to Improve University Education in DPRK
Pyongyang, June 21 (KCNA) -- Proactive efforts are being made in the DPRK to improve university education.

Officials of the Education Commission have scrupulously organized and conducted the work for reeducating teachers of universities, giving educational practice to them and unifying science.

Scores of competent teachers at universities here, including Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology and Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies, have gone to universities in provinces as lecturer for reeducating to learn about the problems arising in teaching subjects and give effective help.

Hundreds of teaching reference data, the latest science and technology data and effective and advantageous teaching methods have been disseminated to dozens of universities, and reeducation in basic subjects, foreign language subjects, etc. were given. This is contributing to improving the qualification of university teachers.

Teachers from universities in provinces are improving their qualification through educational practice at universities here.

The relevant departments of universities here have analyzed the merits and demerits in teaching and helped improve the quality of lectures.

Similar achievements were made by Pyongyang University of Architecture, Kim Hyong Jik University of Education, etc.

Through proactive speeches, lectures and consultative meetings on the experience gained in improving the teaching methods, the universities are contributing to improving curriculums and putting education contents on a practical, comprehensive and modern basis.
