Our Party's intention is to ensure the inauguration successes significant for strengthening the self-supporting economy one after another in the second half of the year by putting spurs to completing the reinforcing and upgrading projects underway in different sectors including the key industry sectors, the editorial says and goes on:

All sectors and units, true to the idea and will of the Party, should secure decisive guarantee for the fulfillment of the 5-year plan this year by conducting more initiative and offensive struggle to further cement the already-achieved growth line and attain the goals without fail.

True to the resolutions of the 6th and 7th plenary meetings of the 8th Central Committee of the WPK, our people have waged a strenuous and devoted struggle to provide decisive guarantee for overfulfilling the 5-year plan in the first half of the year.

Every step for them was difficult than ever before due to the escalating frantic military provocations and reactionary offensive of the hostile forces threatening the country's security environment and its development and interests and due to the manifold hardships. But our people made commonly acknowledged phenomenal achievements and epochal entities in the first half of the year under the distinguished and seasoned leadership of the Party Central Committee.

Today we are faced with the honorable task to perfectly carry out all of what the Party set forth for this year's struggle. The brilliance of achievements made so far at the cost of sweat and blood depends on how the goals of struggle are attained in the remaining period.

We should strive harder with high awareness and will to surely bring the results as intended by the Party this year.

Let all of us glorify this year as a year of great turn and upsurge in the course of development of the Republic by thoroughly implementing the resolutions of the 8th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the WPK.
