Pyongyang, June 28 (KCNA) -- The 45th candlelight rally and demonstration calling for ousting traitor Yoon Suk Yeol took place on a large scale in Seoul on June 24. The candlelight rally, attended by tens of thousands of people from all walks of life including workers, peasants, students, religionists and citizens, was held on the theme of "Let's change our world by our own hands!" Prior to it, there were meetings of civic and public organizations, including the Confederation of Trade Unions, in different parts of Seoul. Speakers at the meetings said that they can not let Yoon Suk Yeol go scot-free as he is making the people tremble with fear of war and committing fascist oppression upon the masses and that only when they overthrow the Yoon-led "regime", the masses can breathe. Speakers said at the rally that people are coming to Seoul every Saturday from Taegu, Taejon, Kyonggi Province and other regions to call for ousting Yoon Suk Yeol. They recalled that martyr Yang Hoe Dong set fire to himself for the stop of suppression of workers like martyr Jon Thae Il who did so shouting "Worker is also a human being". Scores of years have passed since Jon's death but the workers are still targets of suppression as ever, not being treated as human being, they said, adding they would light their candles and shout for the resignation of Yoon on every Saturday without fail despite rain and snow. The participants staged a demonstration with large placards and posters reading "Candlelight wins! Let us overthrow the prosecution-based dictatorship!", "Let us drive out Yoon Suk Yeol and stop the war!" and "Saturday is the day when we beat Yoon Suk Yeol down!" A candlelight rally was held in Kunsan, too. At the rally, hosted by the "Kunsan candlelight action", speakers said that the people's anger would immediately and surely oust Yoon from power. Articles disclosing the criminal nature of traitor Yoon and calling for turning out in the struggle for his resignation are posted on websites one after another. |
