The meetings analyzed and reviewed in an overall way the work in the first half of the year for implementing the resolutions of the 6th and 7th plenary meetings of the 8th Party Central Committee and decided on the action tasks for bringing signal progress in the development of regions and units by carrying through the guidelines of struggle set forth at the 8th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee.

The plenary meeting of the Pyongyang Municipal Party Committee stressed the need to conduct in a more revolutionary way the operation and guidance for thoroughly implementing the Party's policies, including the work to better the ecological environment and stabilize and improve the citizens' living while directing steady and big efforts to cementing Pyongyang into a impregnable fortress for defending the Party Central Committee.

Mainly dealt with at the meetings of South Hwanghae, North Hwanghae and North Phyongan provincial party committees were the ways for giving a boost to the hot wind of scientific farming, focusing efforts on the farming progress and proactively coping with the disastrous abnormal weather.

The meetings of South Phyongan, North Hamgyong and South Hamgyong provincial and Nampho municipal party committees stressed the need to conduct in an offensive way the organizational and political work for further fanning up the flames of the socialist patriotic movement for increased coal production and completing the on-going reinforcement and modernization projects.

Discussed in depth at the meetings of the party committees of all provinces (municipalities), including Kangwon, Jagang and Ryanggang provinces and Kaesong and Rason municipalities, were the issue for the party committees to orient their work to the struggle for attaining 12 major goals for national economic development, direct steady efforts to the rural construction and step up in a long-term and development-oriented way the work for land management and ecological environment protection, the issue for improving the contents and methods of education in keeping with the world trend of educational development and the issue for bringing remarkable development suited to the regional features in the improvement of people's living.

The plenary meetings stressed the need for the officials of party and administrative and economic guidance organs to strive to attain the goals for this year and fully discharge their responsibility and duties in making all worksites brim over with the spirit of collective innovation and the enthusiasm for emulation.
