New Power Station Built in DPRK
Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- The Hungju Youth Power Station No. 5 was built in Jagang Province of the DPRK.

At the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un set it as a precondition for accelerating the economic construction and improving the people's living to boost the electricity production, the main power of the independent economy, and clearly indicated the ways for carrying out this task.

The completion of the power station has laid another foundation for power production to successfully carry out the behests of the peerlessly great men on turning the River Jangja into a useful river for producing electricity and supply much more electricity to the worksites seething with the struggle for attaining 12 major goals for national economic development set forth by the Party.

An inauguration ceremony took place on June 30.

Present there were Han Chil Song, secretary of the Jagang Provincial Committee of the WPK, Kim Chol Jin, chief secretary of the Kanggye City Committee of the WPK, officials concerned, builders, employees of the power station and working people in Kanggye City and Sijung County.

Pak Chun Il, vice-chairman of the Kanggye City People's Committee, addressed the inauguration ceremony and speeches were made.
