Victory in Waters off Jumunjin - Miracle in World History of Naval Battles
Pyongyang, July 2 (KCNA) -- Under the wise guidance of President Kim Il Sung, the brave sailors of the Korean People's Army worked world-startling miracles in the naval battle in the waters off Jumunjin during the 1950-1953 Fatherland Liberation War.

On June 30, Juche 39 (1950), Kim Il Sung called a commanding officer of the KPA navy and gave an instruction to wipe out the U.S. imperialist aggression forces' group of warships moving in the East Sea, with four torpedo boats of the 2nd Torpedo Boat Fleet. The commanding officer could say nothing as the KPA torpedo boats were completely no match for the group of warships of the U.S. imperialists in the scale of arms and equipment and personnel.

The President said to the commanding officer that the KPA sailors have a politico-ideological weapon more powerful than modern weapons, adding that the seamen of the KPA can destroy the U.S. fleet if they make effective use of tactics as they are fully prepared politically and ideologically. Then he taught the bold tactical plan for dealing a surprise blow with small, fast-moving and powerful torpedo boats by taking advantage of the enemy's weak points, and expressed his belief that all the sailors of the 2nd Torpedo Boat Fleet would surely destroy the U.S. imperialist aggression forces' group of warships.

At 00:00 on July 2, the KPA seamen set sail under the order of the President and sank the enemy's heavy cruiser Baltimore, boasted of as a "moving island" in the sea, and damaged a light cruiser, achieving the greatest victory in the world history of naval battles.

After receiving the report on the proud combat results, the President said that the brave feats of the sailors of the 2nd Torpedo Boat Fleet would shine forever not only in the history of the Korean navy but also in the world history of naval warfare.

The victory in the naval battle in the waters off Jumunjin was a miracle, unprecedented in the world history of naval battles, brought about by the matchless pluck and courage, outstanding strategy and tactics of the President, the invincible and iron-willed commander.
