Officials of the Ministry of Land and Maritime Transport direct efforts to preventing residential areas, factories and arable lands which are located in the Taedong River basin from flooding and burying by establishing scientific systems of controlling floodgates and of monitoring and information according to precipitation in connection with the State Hydro-meteorological Administration.

The West Sea Barrage Office is pushing forward with the work for putting water level adjustment on a scientific basis.

Similar measures have been taken at the Ponghwa, Mirim and other barrage offices, too.
