Union officials in Pyongyang Municipality and provinces attended the meeting as observers.

The meeting discussed the issues including the one of thoroughly implementing the resolutions of the 8th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK)

Yun Chol, vice-chairman of the UAWK Central Committee, made a report.

The report reviewed the work of the UAWK organizations for implementing the important tasks set forth at the 6th and 7th plenary meetings of the 8th Central Committee of the WPK, and referred to the tasks to be fulfilled by the UAWK organizations in attaining this year's grain production goal without fail.

The reporter called on all the union officials and members to bear in mind the intention of the Party which set the goal of grain production as the first of the 12 major goals for national economic development and to make redoubled efforts and devotion to bring about a substantial improvement in agricultural production this year.
