Modernization of Light Industrial Factories Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- The Ministry of Light Industry in the DPRK is pushing ahead with the remodeling and modernization projects planned for this year.

Necessary equipment and facilities have been supplied in time to the updating project of the Pyongyang Tannery so that the factory can start its operation at the fixed date.

The remodeling of production buildings at the Hamhung Woolen Mill and the construction of a carpet branch factory are progressing apace.

Officials of the ministry have worked out a phased construction plan in keeping with technical preparations for relevant construction projects completed in order to step up the projects as scheduled.

Technical preparations are under way to build a factory producing matches and gas lighters in the Phyongsong area.

Meanwhile, technical preparations for the construction of a modern school things factory are hastened in cooperation with Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry.

Besides, the ministry has taken relevant practical measures to accelerate the overall modernization projects.
