Efforts to Minimize Natural Damage in DPRK
Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- Emergency disaster and crisis control commands at all levels in the DPRK are concentrating their efforts on the work to minimize natural damage in each sector, unit and region under the unified direction of the central command.

The command of the Ministry of Coal Industry has conducted in real time the work to protect coal pits and equipment from downpour and heavy rain.

The command of the Ministry of Land and Maritime Transport has constantly monitored and measured the change of water level at all rivers in connection with the State Hydro-meteorological Administration, while ensuring that the barrage offices control the operation of floodgates in a scientific way in case of downpour and heavy rain.

The command of the Ministry of Urban Management has taken urgent measures to ensure that urban management units across the country conduct in an effective way their work to make the people not feel even a slight inconvenience during the rainy season.

The provincial commands, too, are pushing ahead with the work to confirm regional security and immediately remove any possible risk factors.
