Remains of Martyrs Newly Buried at War Martyrs Cemetery

Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- Remains of martyrs Pak Jong Sik and Kil Chang Nyon, DPRK heroes, were buried at the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery on July 14 ahead of the 70th anniversary of victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War. Pak Jong Sik fought bravely against the U.S. imperialist aggressors to defend the country liberated by President Kim Il Sung. The martyr, who performed heroic feats of killing and capturing many enemy troops in the battles on Height 187 in the Phohang area and other battles, guarded the country with arms of the revolution in the postwar period and fulfilled his mission and duty as a revolutionary forerunner and educator instilling the soul and spirit of the wartime heroic soldiers into the minds of the younger generation till the last moments of his life. Kil Chang Nyon, who served in a proud guards unit, successfully transported ammunitions for the unit along the Raktong River, contributing to winning the battles. He devotedly protected the flag of the unit from the siege by the enemy during the strategic temporary retreat and devoted his all to defending the country and strengthening the combat capabilities of the unit even after the war. At the ceremonies of burying the remains of the martyrs, speakers said that the feats of the war veterans were etched in the history of the country under the great love and benevolence of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, supreme incarnation of revolutionary comradeship and noble moral obligation. Remains of martyrs were buried at the cemetery. The participants laid bouquets before the graves of the martyrs and paid silent tribute to them. Meanwhile, buried at the graves of martyrs Yun Thae Jun, Kang Jae Bong, Kim Jin Song, Kang Kyong Ho, Sin Chang Hwal, Kim Wan Su, O Kum Man, Jong Yong Phal, Kim Myong Su, Jang Ki Sok, Ro Chol San, Han Kil Ryong, Cha Sang Ryul, O Tong Hun, Ju Tong Gyok and Jang Je Gun were the remains of their wives. |
