The power station, comprising Phalhyang, Changpho and Kwangdok dams and cascade stations with large capacity in deep mountains in the Orangchon area, greatly contributes to the economic development and improvement of people's wellbeing in the province with increased power production.

The power station is associated with the wise leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who guided its construction step by step to complete it at an early date, true to the behest of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il.

One day in July Juche 107 (2018), he visited the power station under construction. He gave confidence and courage to the officials and builders to work fresh feats in the construction of the power station and finish the construction at an early date.

That day he took a detailed step for the supply of cement and fuel needed for the construction and dispatched a powerful construction force, saying that the builders took much trouble to build the Phalhyang dam under difficult conditions.

And he showed his deep trust for them, saying that the dam would appear magnificently as an edifice of the times strikingly displaying the inexhaustible creative strength of workers and other people in North Hamgyong Province out to devotedly implement the Party policy.

Encouraged by his loving care and trust, the builders turned out as one and successfully completed the power station construction.

Since its inauguration, the employees of the power station have raised its scientification level of water control and operation efficiency to fulfill their national economic plan every month.

Its officials and workers are now boosting the electricity output, full of enthusiasm to attain without fail the power production goal for this year, which is of weighty significance in implementing the 5-year plan.
