Fisheries Output Increased in DPRK
Pyongyang, July 20 (KCNA) -- The Ministry of Fisheries in the DPRK strives to catch more fish in the second half of the year.

The ministry has made efforts to raise the accuracy of searching for fishing grounds on the east and west seas.

It has helped the provincial fishery management bureaus, fishery stations and fishing boats on the east coast find out the main fishing grounds by establishing a scientific water temperature transmission system and weather forecast system and transmitting data to them.

Its officials are active on the spots to learn about and settle the problems arising in searching the main fishing grounds, waging intensive fishing campaigns and ensuring promptness in unloading work.

They have also urged the offshore farms to cultivate kelp summer seedlings for next year's production in a scientific and technological way and to push ahead with the creation of cultivation areas as scheduled.

The ministry set it as its major task for the second half of the year to complete the project for updating the Sinpho Fishery Station within this year and is pushing ahead with the project.

Besides, it is stepping up various projects including the second-stage construction project at the Jikha Atlantic Salmon Pedigree Farm.
