Pyongyang, July 21 (KCNA) -- Workers and trade union members met with war veterans on July 20 on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

Present there were trade union officials and members and workers in Pyongyang Municipality.

When war veterans arrived at the Central Hall of Workers, trade union officials and members warmly welcomed them, presenting bouquets to them.

Pak In Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, made a speech at the meeting.

Then, war veterans Ryu Song Jun, Kil Pong Son and Han Ran Hui told about the immortal feats performed by the brave soldiers of the Korean People's Army (KPA) who honorably defended the country, devotedly upholding the order of their leader during the Fatherland Liberation War.

Recalling that the young DPRK defeated the U.S. imperialism which had boasted of the world's "strongest", they said it was fruition of the brilliant military idea and seasoned leadership of President Kim Il Sung, an invincible iron-willed commander, and a brilliant victory achieved with the unshakable faith of the Korean people and servicepersons that they were sure to win under the guidance of the President and through their heroic struggle.

Saying that there is no difficulty insurmountable for the heroic workers who are proudly carrying forward the fighting spirit and traits displayed by the workers in Kunja-ri during the war, the war veterans requested the participants to attain without fail the 12 major goals for national economic development set forth by the Workers' Party of Korea.
