Heat Wave Witnessed in DPRK
Pyongyang, July 21 (KCNA) -- Heat wave continues in the DPRK from July 19 due to the effect of the developed northwest Pacific high pressure. The daily maximum temperature is above 33 degrees centigrade and the average daily relative humidity is beyond 70 percent in some areas of the west coast and the central inland of the country.

According to observation of the State Hydro-meteorological Administration on the highest temperature on July 20, the regions recording above 35 degrees centigrade are Sudong Workers' District (37.8 degrees centigrade) of Kowon County and Yodok County (35.7 degrees centigrade) of South Hamgyong Province, Unchon County (35.4 degrees centigrade) of South Hwanghae Province and Ryongsong District of Pyongyang Municipality, Kusong City of North Phyongan Province and Junggang County of Jagang Province (35 degrees centigrade respectively).

Those regions recording above 34 degrees centigrade in the daily maximum temperature are Samsok District and Kangdong County of Pyongyang Municipality, Changsong and Pyokdong counties and Suphung Workers' District of Sakju County of North Phyongan Province, Thosan County of North Hwanghae Province, Anak and Pyoksong counties of South Hwanghae Province and Kanggye City and Usi County of Jagang Province.

Nearly 50 regions record above 33 degrees centigrade in the daily maximum temperature.

Weather experts say that the heat wave will go on in those regions till July 21.
