Week of Film Show Opens in DPRK
Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- A week of film show opened with due ceremony at the Pyongyang International Cinema House on July 21 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

The week of film show serves as a significant occasion in deeply grasping the immortal exploits President Kim Il Sung, the peerlessly legendary brilliant commander, performed for the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War, and the resolute spirit of defending the country displayed by heroic soldiers in the 1950s.

Screened at cinemas and houses of culture across the country will be such documentary films as "July 27, Eternal Victory Day", "Flag of Republic Cherished in People's Mind" and "Tradition of Victory" dealing with the feats performed by the defenders of the country who turned out in the sacred war to annihilate the enemy with absolute loyalty to the Party and the revolution and ardent patriotism and honorably defended the sovereignty and dignity of the country.

Also screened will be feature films on various themes including "They Were Ordinary Soldiers", "Kang Ho Yong" and "My Mother Was a Hunter".

Present at the opening ceremony were Jo Kyong Jun, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Ri Myong Chol, secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK, officials, creators and artistes in the film sector and working people in the municipality.

Jong Yong Nam, director-general of the National Administration of Motion Picture Industry, made an opening address.

At the end of the ceremony the participants watched a documentary film "Tradition of Victory in Great Annals Will Be Successfully Carried Forward Generation after Generation".

A week of film show also opened in all provinces on the same day.
