Those intellectuals have made achievements conducive to the economic development and the improvement of people's living standard through a dynamic drive for breaking through the cutting edge and greatly contributed to the education of the rising generation.

The title of candidate academician was awarded to Dean of a faculty Choe Su Nam, Head of a department Hwang Kum Chol and researcher Ri Won Chol of Kim Il Sung University and Paek Sol Hui, director of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

Professorship was conferred on department heads Kim Chang Hae, Pak Myong Chol and O Hyong Chol, Section Chief Pae Kwang Hui and teacher Pak Hui Sun of Kim Il Sung University, Yu Song Chol, dean of a faculty of Kim Hyong Jik University of Education, and others.

Doctorate went to 50 persons including Ho Kwang Rim, section chief of Kim Il Sung University, Myong Kwang Min, section chief of Kim Chaek University of Technology, and Ri Jong Sop, vice-dean of a faculty of Kim Hyong Jik University of Education.

And 165 persons were awarded the title of associate professor and 978 persons master's degrees.
