Among them is the Kangwon Provincial Tree Nursery, built as a model and standard of the country. The tree nursery has produced tens of millions of saplings annually for the past five years since its inauguration, making a great contribution to the afforestation of the province.

It is associated with the patriotic devotion of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who unfolded a grand plan for the forest restoration campaign and has guided the whole Party, the entire army and all the people to add brilliance to the history of gold mountains.

He personally chose the site for the tree nursery and took every measure for its design and construction and supply of materials and equipment to lead the construction work wisely.

He examined dozens of miniatures of architectural structures to be built at the tree nursery and saw to it that the builders of the province could raise their technical knowledge and skill while working together with skilled workers of a major construction unit experienced in the construction of tree nursery.

One day in July Juche 107 (2018), he visited the Kangwon Provincial Tree Nursery despite sultry weather and expressed his great satisfaction over the fact that another large-scale sapling producer was built in a splendid way. He noted with high appreciation that Kangwon Province completed the huge project in a short span of time and laid a solid material and technical foundation for ensuring the stable sapling production.

That day he stressed the need for the nursery to further raise the scientification level in sapling production and produce and supply more saplings of good species suited to the climatic and soil conditions of the province so as to get benefit from it and make it pay off in the afforestation.

True to his noble intention, the Kangwon Provincial Tree Nursery introduced the technology of double-production of saplings and has made successes in putting the sapling production on a scientific basis of higher level by establishing a real-time salinity measurement system and furnishing a water quality analyzer over the past years.

Its officials and employees are now putting spurs to the work to produce more saplings of good species suited to the regional specific features.
