For the past 50 years since its foundation, the factory has grown into a leading tractor production base which makes a positive contribution to developing the country's self-supporting industry and carrying out the rural technical revolution.

In November Juche 47 (1958), President Kim Il Sung was satisfied with the fact that the workers of the factory rejected mysticism about technology and produced the first tractor in more than 30 days, and showed love and trust for them.

In July 1973, he named the remodeled factory the "Kumsong Tractor Factory" and indicated the orientation and ways for systematically increasing the production of tractors and producing various farm machines by relying on the solid material and technical foundations.

During his revolutionary guidance, Chairman Kim Jong Il dispatched an art squad for increased production to encourage the workers and technicians out in the drive for implementing the Party's policies to effect a great surge in production, and led the work to boost and modernize the tractor production while seeing the newly-produced tractor "Chollima-2000".

Under the care of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the factory entered a new stage of its development.

For the past 50 years, the officials and employees have produced various kinds of tractors, combine harvesters, mobile threshers and many farm machines, contributing to accomplishing the rural technical revolution.

The officials and workers of the factory strive to develop and produce more new-type tractors and modern farm machines and send them to the socialist rural communities.
