Attending there were Ri Chang Sik, vice-chairman of the Education Commission who is chairman of the Korean Committee for Solidarity with Cuba, officials concerned and working citizens in Pyongyang Municipality.

Present on invitation were Charge d'Affaires ad Interim Boris Perez Abin and a staff member of the Cuban embassy here and a Cuban guest staying in the DPRK.

Ri Chang Sik said in his speech at the meeting that the gun report of justice, made by the Cuban revolutionaries under the guidance of Comrade Fidel Castro Ruz in Moncada, developed into an all-people resistance and resulted in the overthrow of the reactionary pro-U.S. dictatorial regime and the birth of the first socialist state in the western hemisphere of the earth.

He stressed that the traditional DPRK-Cuba relations of friendship, firmly established in the struggle for the cause of independence against imperialism and for the socialist cause, are now further developing into a strategic and comradely relationship under the deep care of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and Comrade Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez.

Boris Perez Abin said in his speech that Cuba supports and encourages the DPRK striving to build a socialist power and achieve peace and stability in the Korean peninsula and opposes the unilateral sanctions and extreme interference in the DPRK.

He extended constant solidarity to the Korean people vigorously advancing toward the road of victory of socialism, expressing deep thanks to the DPRK for having always supported the Cuban people in the struggle to get the unjust sanctions, imposed by the U.S. imperialists on Cuba, lifted.

At the end of the meeting, the participants watched a Cuban feature film "Victorious Refugees".
