Medical units in Hoesang District of Hamhung City and Pidan-ri of Kumya County have produced traditional medicines by using raw materials rich in local areas. Such medicines are proving effective in the preventive and curative work.

Koryo medicine factories in Hamhung City and Kowon and Pukchong counties, medicine management offices in Tanchon City and Kowon County and other units have increased the production of popular medicines and officinal medicines to contribute to promoting the people's health.
