Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Receives Greetings from Syrian President

Pyongyang, August 12 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, received a message of greeting from Bashar Al-Assad, president of the Syrian Arab Republic, on August 1.

In the message Bashar Al-Assad extended congratulations to Kim Jong Un and the friendly people of the DPRK on the 70th anniversary of its victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

The great victory, the leadership of the DPRK and its army and people won in the war against US imperialism by mobilizing all their efforts and displaying their stubbornness, added luster to the position and honor of the DPRK, the message said.

It hoped that the DPRK would make steady progress and development in the future, too and the firm friendly relations between the two countries would be further strengthened.
