In the message, the Russian president extended his heartfelt congratulations to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un on the occasion of the day of Korea's liberation.

This holiday is a symbol of bravery and heroism of the Red Army soldiers and the Korean patriots who fought together to liberate Korea from Japan's colonial rule, the message said, adding:

The tradition of friendship and cooperation, provided in that period of rigorous struggle, has served as a solid foundation for the development of good-neighborly relations between the Russian Federation and the DPRK.

I am sure that we will strengthen the bilateral cooperation in all fields for the two peoples' well-being and the firm stability and security of the Korean peninsula and the whole of Northeast Asia.

The message wished Kim Jong Un good health and success and all the citizens of the DPRK happiness and prosperity.
