Pyongyang, August 16 (KCNA) -- During the anti-Japanese armed struggle, members of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA) and the Korean people wonderfully depicted the great personality of President Kim Il Sung, a legendary hero of the anti-Japanese war and the lodestar of national liberation, with artistic pictures, thus opening up the origin of Juche-oriented fine art embodying the revolutionary outlook on the leader. Members of the KPRA regarded it as their duty to depict the personality of the President as a great man in artistic pictures. They created art pieces depicting the President in various contents and forms in the spare times of battles, marches and camping. And patriotic artists at home and abroad, too, created works depicting the great sun of the nation. All the works show the absolute trust, boundless reverence and ardent loyalty of the anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters and people to the peerlessly great man. Korean paintings "General Kim's Order Echoes through the Valleys of Mt Paektu", "Commander Kim Il Sung Calls for Annihilating the Enemy" and "Tiger of Guerillas" and the pen drawing "General Kim Smashes Enemies Stationed in Liudaogou", are truly and gracefully depicting the matchless courage and mettle of the President who keeps the formidable enemy under his thumb with his superb strategy and war methods. The woodcut "Commander Kim Il Sung Planning Operational Plan" which depicted the image of the President, a young hero in his twenties, who is drawing arrow of advance on a operation map under lamplight in the night of the thick forest, is the first woodcut which depicted the leader in Korea. This is a significant work that put the tradition of the woodcut art on a new ground. The Korean painting "General Kim Returning an Ox to Farmers of Yaksu-dong Village" and the mimeograph painting "General Kim Gives a Wild Insam for Curing an Old Woman" and other works depict in depth the noble personality of the President who created a legend of love for the people, sharing joy and sorrow with the people during the anti-Japanese war. The pen drawing "General Kim Lighting up a Campfire" and the mimeograph painting "General Kim Mending His Members' Shoes" impressively showing love and devotion of the President for his revolutionary comrades make people keenly feel once again the source of the invincible might of the Korean revolution which was pioneered and has advanced by comradeship. The art works depicting the leader created by the first generation of the Korean revolution are further beautifying and enriching the flower garden of Juche-oriented fine art developing century after century. |
