The institute has a higher education center, a general education center, an exhibition hall for educational scientific research findings, cultural and welfare facilities, etc.

The institute will be able to smoothly discharge its mission and duty as the center for education science research making a tangible contribution to the educational revolution in the new century since it has been splendidly built as befitting a central educational scientific research organ and an advisory organ for educational policy specializing in the study of the country's education science and ensuring unified guidance over it.

An inaugural ceremony took place on August 16.

Present there were Choe Tong Myong, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission, Cha Ki Chol, director of the Pedagogical Institute, builders of the Pyongyang Construction Commission and officials, researchers and employees of the Education Commission, the Pedagogical Institute and relevant units.

Vice-Premier Jon Sung Guk made an inaugural address to be followed by speeches.

At the end of the ceremony, its participants went round the institute.
