Wreaths Laid before Monuments to Soviet Army in DPRK

| Pyongyang, August 22 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were placed at the liberation towers, statues of the Soviet Army, memorial towers and cemeteries of fallen fighters of the Soviet Army in Wonsan, Hamhung, Sinuiju, Haeju, Nampho and other areas of the DPRK on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of Korea's liberation. Present at the wreath-laying ceremonies were officials of the Foreign Ministry and regional power organs of the DPRK and the ambassador and members of the Russian embassy here and Russian guests staying in the DPRK. Wreaths in the joint name of those power organs, bouquets and flowers were laid before the monuments to the Soviet Army. The participants paid tribute to the Red Army officers and men who performed noble internationalist feats in the sacred war for Korea's liberation. |
